Former MSU student loses life in auto accident
Game warden charged in crash that killed two, left one in critical condition

Many students and alumni began this week with heavy hearts after learning of the death of an MSU student enrolled in the fall 2007 semester. Matthew Gaskin, 23, was killed in a single-car accident on Oktoc Road early Friday morning. Gaskin, a senior exercise physiology major and a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, and Jessica Burks, 27, of Long Meadow Subdivision, Starkville, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by Oktibbeha County coroner Michael Hunt. SA preps for year with proposals
Resolutions passed by SA, pending MSU approval

In its last meeting of the fall semester, the Student Association passed three resolutions that proposed individual campus improvement projects. The resolutions called for the construction of a sidewalk leading from the shuttle area by Montgomery Hall to the bike and motorcycle area of McCool Hall, the placement of snack and drink vending machines in the Mitchell Memorial Library and the construction of an electronic announcement marquee on the edge of campus.
