Two MSU students bare all for Playboy magazine's October issue

Two Mississippi State University students have shed their inhibitions and clothing for Playboy's "Girls of the SEC" pictorial, which hit shelves Sept. 7 as part of the magazine's October issue. Andi Dandridge and Angela James, whose real last names are kept confidential, were two of 35 MSU students who auditioned for the pictorial in March at the downtown Hotel Chester in Starkville last semester. Student numbers hit new record
MSU enrollment reaches more than 17,000

Mississippi State officials announced Wednesday that attendance levels are setting all-time records across the board. According to an article on the MSU Web site, the university has recorded 17,039 overall students for the fall 2007 semester, the first time attendance has eclipsed the 17,000 mark. (0) comments
Faculty Senate holds meeting to discuss drug policy

The Mississippi State University Faculty Senate voted almost unanimously against a recently-approved drug and alcohol testing policy. The Senate, which held its first meeting of the semester Friday, decided to take more time to discuss the details of the policy before deciding how to revise the current regulations. (0) comments

The Lambda Chi Alpha MSU chapter will hold its annual fundraiser, Watermelon Fest, Wednesday and Thursday. The competition, previously open to only freshmen sorority members, will now be open to all sorority members due to Panhellenic Council concerns. Other changes to Watermelon Fest include the omission of Spirit Night and the set of relay games. (2) comments

The Union's opening date has been pushed back until the start of the spring semester, according to MSU President Robert H. "Doc" Foglesong. This marks the second delay since The Union renovations began more than 14 months ago. "We made some good-faith decisions based on this understanding and on the information we had," Foglesong said in a university relations news release. (0) comments
