When Adam Carlson steps onto the field to kick off for the Bulldogs Thursday night, he'll be doing it a little further back. This summer, the NCAA Rules Committee voted to move kickoffs back five yards to the 30-yard line, the same spot as NFL kickoffs. The move is intended to do two things: shorten the length of the average college football game while at the same time not limiting the number of plays each team has during the course of a game. This summer, first-year MSU men's tennis coach Per Nilsson stepped onto the court prepared to take the Bulldogs to victory. Previously, Nilsson worked as a tennis professional in Atlanta, Ga., for six years. During that time, Nilsson served as head tennis professional at Capital City Country Club for two years, where he coached juniors and adults. (0) comments

The Mississippi State volleyball team opened its season with a two wins and a loss in the MSU/Microtel Classic. This marks the third straight year MSU has lost in the finale after winning the first two games of the tournament. The Dawgs (2-1) beat Murray State 3-0 in their season opener in games of 30-27, 30-25 and 33-31. (0) comments
